The Ambiguous Chess Piece
How to win at chess...
Step 1. Print out the scroll saw pattern in the image below and tape it round the corner of a piece of wood as shown in B above.
Step 2. Cut the outline of the bishop on your scroll saw but do NOT remove the middle piece from the stock, instead wraping the stock in tape to keep the middle part firmly in place while you do the compound cut in step 3.
Step 3. Cut round the outline of the knight and carefully remove the tape and the middle section from the stock.
You now have a chess piece which when viewed from the front is a bishop but which when viewed from the side is a knight. Use it to skillfully bamboozle and dumbfound your rivals at high level chess tournaments.
