Garden Chainsaw Mill
A chainsaw mill for use with small(ish) logs. Not having a workshop (or even fences separating our garden from those of our neighbours) it was important to design something that'd blend innocuously into the background when not in use.
Built from 2x4 timber and 18mm ply and held together with doweled and glued construction the length can easily be adapted to fit any space.
The plans include a cutting list for the 6' version as well as an exploded view of the construction method. The dowels can be replaced with screws if required at the expense of a degree of rigidity and durability.
The mill requires around 9m of 2"x4" timber joist and a suitable piece of 18mm plywood (or decking) for the seat, and with the given dimensions will mill anything up to 5' long x 12' diameter using a 16" makita electric chainsaw or similar.
